This is a large sculpture of a crazed car and driver. Look at the Phildendron Lady I did last year how different I felt about my Florida environment right after the three hurricanes and during the election! Before it was lush and lovely -- now it is careening out of control!

I plan to make this into an intermedia piece featuring sound and projected video.

www.folkvine.org

Our work on the Folkvine project was funded for a second year by the Florida Humanities council. We will be doing two or three more folkartits this spring, and hosting public events. We are planning a trip to see Ruby Williams, one of the folk artists features on the Folkvine website, talking about her work at the smithsonian Anacosta Museum at the end of January. I am the director of videography and editing, and one of the key collaborators on the site.

Today, Chantale, who is the web designer for Folkvine, came over to toss around ideas for my new website. I think that her ideas and aesthetics work well with mine -- not too clean -- tactile.

Altered thrown pot. I like the feel of this pot, and might make a series of these.

I was very happy with this firing, done at the Crealdé School of Art in December. Kept this pot for myself!

Three French butter dishes

Three different glazes on French Butter Dishes I made as gifts.

French butter dish (inside)

You pack the butter in the lid of this pot, and add water to the bowl. By inverting the butter into the water, it keeps the butter fresh at room temperature.

New Year

Back from the holidays, I'm finally getting a chance to post images of all the sculpture and ceramics I finshed up at the end of the year.
